***GBB REGION GAME UPDATE for Tomorrow - Good afternoon, with the incoming weather and the game being a regional game, we are going to move tomorrow’s game with Arlington up to 3:00 PM. We’re hoping the incoming weather holds off to have the game played. If the weather does force a postponement we will strive to let you know as soon as that decision has been made. ***GBB Playoffs - The Raider girls will be facing off against the Arlington Cardinals on Tuesday, February 21 for the second game of the Region 2B Girls Basketball Tournament. The game will be played in Arlington at 6:00 PM.
***REMINDER - There is school tomorrow, 2/17 and will have an early release at 2:00PM with no aftercare. This was sent out awhile back and will be a make-up day for one of our snow days that we've had this season. Staff inservice will follow for the remainder of the day. Thank you!
***Important announcements regarding basketball for tomorrow night AND Saturday. Tomorrow evening's double-header in Rutland has a bit of an adjusted schedule. Flandreau Indian School will NOT have a boys JV team, so the girls JV game will start at 5:00PM. The varsity girls game will now be at 6:00PM with the boys varsity to follow. ALSO, last night's boy's game against Great Plains Lutheran has been rescheduled for Saturday afternoon at 1:00PM in Rutland (JV at 1:00 followed by varsity). Thank you!

***Important change/SENIOR NIGHT***Tonight's basketball game will be postponed due to a blizzard warning being in effect (to the north) starting at 6:00PM. There will be no breakfast served, no preschool, and busses will be running where able (about 90 minutes later than your normally scheduled pickup time). Good morning, the winds seemed to have moved some of the snow out there. School is still on time, but please let students know to drive safe. The gravel to the north of Rutland is pretty plugged up and we are requesting vehicles to come into town off the Rutland oil (south). Thank you and travel safe!

With the recent school cancellations due to snow, the Rutland School Board discussed and approved making up 2 (for now, to be again discussed at future meetings) of the missed days.
With the changes, we will plan to have school next Monday, January 16th (full school day), to make up one of the missed days. Additionally, we will also be having school on Friday, February 17th with an early dismissal at 2:00 and staff inservice planned from 2:00 until the end of the day. Please take note of these changes and plan accordingly. Thank you for your understating!
***Reminder - The public performance for the One-Act play will be tonight! At 7:00, "Attention Detention" will be preformed in the Rutland gymnasium. There will be a free-will donation for entry/popcorn/water. Competition for the One-Act will be on Wednesday, January 18th in Brookings. We hope to see you tonight!

Good morning. December 23rd through the 26th is the SDHSAA Winter Moratorium. This means that school facilities (gyms/weight rooms/etc.) are closed to all teams (elementary, junior high, junior varsity, and varsity). Usage of the facility can resume on Tuesday, December 27th.
