***Important information pertaining to bussing*** - Until further notice, the Rutland buses will only be traveling on paved roads only. Due to the current weather, melting, freezing, etc., the buses are not only destroying the local gravel roads but the roads are also quite hard on our buses. Please connect with your bus driver (or Janet in the main office) for pickup/dropoff locations. We're very sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

****Rutland School Closed 3/16 due to weather**** - Reminder, there is already no school scheduled for Friday the 17th. School will resume Monday the 20th with the Project Fair that evening.

***10:00 start tomorrow, Wednesday the 15th. No breakfast and buses on plowed roads only.

***Late Start Tomorrow.- Monday March 13th*** - Rutland will open at 10:00 tomorrow. No breakfast, no morning preschool, and buses traveling where they are able. If your roads are plugged please communicate with your bus driver for transportation purposes. Thank you.

***12:30 Closure Today, March 9th, 2023*** With the now that fell overnight paired with a forecast of additional snow and increased wind chances, we are going to error on the side of caution and get everyone home safely. The Rutland School District will be closing at 12:30. Students will be fed lunch and buses leaving the building at 12:30 PM. Thank you!

The Rutland School will start at 10:00 this morning, Monday, March 6th. There will be no preschool and no breakfast served. Buses will be running approximately 90 minutes later than normal. Thank you and please travel safe!

***Couple of reminders - First, conferences are tonight from 3:30 - 7:30. We would love to see you and your child(ren)! It's a great opportunity for everyone to have some face-to-face interaction to discuss their education and progress!!! SECOND - Please mark your calendars for March 20th and 21st! On the 20th we will have our annual Project Fair for our students to showcase some of their learning, all are welcome! Then, on the 21st our 6-12th grade music department will be having their "POPS Concert" starting at 6:30 in the Rutland Gym. Again, we hope to see you there!

High school and middle school teachers will be available in their rooms, please feel free to come discuss your child(ren)'s progress! We encourage you to bring them with as well!!! ***GBB REGION GAME UPDATE for Tomorrow - Good afternoon, with the incoming weather and the game being a regional game, we are going to move tomorrow’s game with Arlington up to 3:00 PM. We’re hoping the incoming weather holds off to have the game played. If the weather does force a postponement we will strive to let you know as soon as that decision has been made. ***GBB Playoffs - The Raider girls will be facing off against the Arlington Cardinals on Tuesday, February 21 for the second game of the Region 2B Girls Basketball Tournament. The game will be played in Arlington at 6:00 PM.

***REMINDER - There is school tomorrow, 2/17 and will have an early release at 2:00PM with no aftercare. This was sent out awhile back and will be a make-up day for one of our snow days that we've had this season. Staff inservice will follow for the remainder of the day. Thank you!

***Important announcements regarding basketball for tomorrow night AND Saturday. Tomorrow evening's double-header in Rutland has a bit of an adjusted schedule. Flandreau Indian School will NOT have a boys JV team, so the girls JV game will start at 5:00PM. The varsity girls game will now be at 6:00PM with the boys varsity to follow. ALSO, last night's boy's game against Great Plains Lutheran has been rescheduled for Saturday afternoon at 1:00PM in Rutland (JV at 1:00 followed by varsity). Thank you!
